You can make your PC desktop taskbar as clear as glass. For this you need to install a small software Glass2k.
Glass2k is a Windows desktop program which enables you to create transparency effects on windows. Transparent windows are attractive to look at.
After you install it an icon will add in system tray. Click right mouse on that icon. From setting option you will see taskbar transparency (blue color). Now you can make this blue color more dark or light.
It is available in 6 languages. It is a freeware software.
