Recently Facebook changed its appearance. It gives more privacy to the users. When you write something in your wall or status box everyone sees current status. It is new default settings. But you have option to lock your status.
First write something in status box. Then click Lock icon button. It is left side of share icon. Now from customize choose which persons you want to share your status.
